Module Management in FREMO

One can wonder why there really should be a central management modules? It's a task which takes time to administer. And really, because we would just meet to build, play and run.

On the other hand, any information must be available for the meetingplaner, before major engagements can even become reality. An agreement with module builder and joining of data in many different formats, is not realistic. A meeting like our 25th anniversary meeting in Alsfeld, would not be planned without a central collection of modules.

What information is managed

Through prolonged becomes module drawings produced in a standard form. A definitive list exist in Excel with core information (length, radius, end sections) for each module. With drawings in the same format and scale, arrangements can be planned. Apart from the module information can for example be calculated drivingtimes.

How the modules is managed

With the large influx of members has also modular approach has grown considerably. It is therefore no longer possible to manage modules without benefit of a central EDV system. This system is currently being worked through. The task is delegated by the Board in a Working Group.
