How?

To avoid a lengthy bureaucratic procedure, the management is devided decentralized. We divide the approximately 10,000 addresses in segments of hundred addresses each. These segments are currently managed by Tobias Meyer. Segment management is independent. Usually, segments are assigned to local groups such that segment manager and locomotive owners know each other and meet at Fremo-meetings regularly. This way, segment managers maintain an overview over actual usage and can identify free addresses.

If you'd like to get an address, contact your local segment manager. If there is none that seems suitable, contact Tobias Meyer. Also contact him if you'd like to manage a segment yourself.

Documentation

Assigned addresses need to be documented online. This way, we can assure that double usage conflicts, which happen from time to time, can be resolved quickly. Also this way loss of a documentation table (computer crash, segment manager leaves Fremo...) can be avoided. An overview over existing segments can be found in the table of segments. External documentation is possible, but usage of fremo-net is highly encouraged and is actually quite easy!
